Shaq to Cavs, RJ to Spurs, Carter to Magic.

They can dance together, but can they play together and go to the top. Shaq to the Cavs adds a better low post presence, then Big Z but he still doesnt fix the problem the Cavs had in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Cavs had trouble with the pick and roll and im not to sure if Shaq fills that hole. Shaq isn’t really as mobile as he used to be, and thats what is needed on pick and role defense mobility to stop the ball. But with Shaq now teamed up with LeBron that could be greatness in the making. Also with Kobe just winning a title to be tied with the “Diesel” man himself,  I’m sure he wants to win amother Championship to seperate himself from Kobe once again.

The Spurs gets a perimeter player in RJ for situations when Tony Parker slashes to the lane, or when ”The Big Fundamental” wants to kick out on a double-team. Jefferson is still a young  guy and with the Spurs getting rid of old guys Bruce Bowen and Kurt Thomas it could help them. Dealing Bowen and Thomas could hurt them as well, because you knew what you were getting out of those two everynight although Bowen’s performance has decreased since last year. But the Spurs look good going into next year.

Vince Carter is this guy done or done he still have something left in the tank. With his point total decreasing every year since he’s been in New Jersey, I’m starting to have my doubts about ol’ Vince. The Magic gave up some key people in this deal especially Rafer Alston who was key in the Magic home games in the finals. But if the Magic can keep Hedo they will be even more dangerous with the add ofVince Carter. Also with the add of Vince he’s a taller guard and he can play the taller two-guards, which the Magic had problems with in the Finals guarding Kobe.

These are three big trades that will be making major noise in this upcoming season and you might just see one of these three teams in next years finals.

Since the goal by Altidore the (US) has really just been laying back playing defense . That type of style can get them in big trouble  because  Spain has had a couple missed chances thet were so close to going in .  The US needs to get back to being aggressive after halftime to when this game.

 But Spain is able to turn the heat up at just about anytime. the US so far has beeen playing good defense keeping the ball on the oponents side. 

In the 17th minute of the game an offsides call on Torres from Spain which should have been a clear goal. at the 20:52 mark Donovan shoots a shot wide.

Having the first pick in the 2009 draft the Clippers have got to be happy. With Blake Griffin as the top prospect in this years draft, the Clippers are holding on to that top draft pick as they should be. Blake Griffin averaged 21.9ppg and 14.3rpg and shot 63% from the field. Blake Griffin is a young gun who is ready to play ball, and will, I think, change the face of the Clippers, and how they’ve been looked upon.

The Clippers aren’t too far off from the last time they’ve made it to the playoffs and with savvy veterans like Marcus Camby, Baron Davis, and Chris Kaman they should do well this season if they stay healthy. Also, once they add Blake Griffin that should add some depth to their frontline which is key in the Western Conference, playing guys like Pau Gasol, Tim Duncan, Amare Stoudemire, will really put a hurting on you because they draw fouls and lots of them.

Hopefully this year everyone on the team can stay healthy and on the floor.  Young emerging stars Eric Gordon and Al Thorton  also showed some bright spots last year, with Gordon averaging 16.1ppg. and Thorton 16.8ppg.  This looks good as far as the Clippers moving forward and up in the Western Conference. With Baron Davis aka Bdiddy getting back in the line-up, this season is always good because we all know what he is capable of doing. Marcus Camby brings a defensive mindset to a team who was twenty-fourth in the league in defense. The Clippers still need to work on their offense because they were ranked twenty-seventh in the league overall in offense.

Going into next year the Lakers will be the defending Champions and the Clippers will be in the dark shadow of the Lakers limelight once again. Although the Clippers will most likely always be in the Lakers’ shadow, they can try and at least move closer to the light. With a bright star like Blake Griffi,n it’ll help alot. Blake Griffin said “It doesn’t bother me at all,” according to  The Associated Press “It doesn’t bother me at all,” Griffin told The Associated Press. “All that stuff happened in the past. That’s exactly what it is: It’s in the past. No one can do anything about it now, when asked does the Clippers past troubles bother you in anyway Press.  Griffin said ”All that stuff happened in the past. That’s exactly what it is: It’s in the past. No one can do anything about it now”. with this mindset i think Blake Griffin can take the Clippers far in this upcoming year and years to come.

A move that I think should have happened a while ago honestly. Taller cornerbacks to cover those tall receivers. Covering guys like Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, Plaxico Burress isn’t easy to start with and the size advantage makes it even harder. The NFC playoffs proved that size is a major factor with Larry Fitzgerald leaping over defenders to grab the ball.    I like this article because it finally talks about the smurf cornerbacks of the NFL.

The spurs now grabbed forward Richard Jefferson, a big move especially in the Western Conference. Jefferson brings slashing and another threat on the perimeter when Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili drives to the basket.
